The Malaysian Cabinet is set to review a study on the "AI Productivity Paradox," led by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. The report, currently being refined by the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan), and the Digital Ministry, aims to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of government spending on digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. Speaking at the 4th National Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Research Conference, Tan Sri Shamsul emphasized the importance of ensuring that every ringgit invested delivers tangible results and maximum returns. The study will help guide future policies to enhance productivity and the impact of AI-driven projects in the public sector.
