Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki emphasized the importance of empirical research and accurate data analysis in shaping sustainable, evidence-based anti-corruption policies. Highlighting successful examples from countries like Hong Kong, Austria, and South Korea, he noted how data-driven approaches identified systemic weaknesses, spurred administrative reforms, and boosted economic competitiveness. Tan Sri Azam also pointed out Malaysia's commitment to combating corruption through initiatives such as the National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS), which incorporates regular risk assessments and improved public sector governance. He called for continued research efforts to further strengthen Malaysia’s integrity-driven governance agenda.
