The High Court in Shah Alam has granted an interim gag order preventing Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin from making any public comments regarding the death of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Palapes cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin. The order, secured by the cadet’s mother, Ummu Haiman Bee Daulatgun, also restricts the Defence Ministry from issuing statements until investigations conclude. Syamsul, aged 22, passed away during training at the Army Combat Training Centre in Johor on July 28. The court’s decision aims to preserve the integrity of ongoing inquiries into the tragic incident.
