Actor and comedian Robo Shankar passed away in Chennai on Thursday, various news outlets reported. He was 46.According to reports, the star, who was known for his performances in films and television, had a health scare early this week when he had reportedly fainted. He was later admitted to a private hospital on OMR

According to The Hindu, Dr. S. Asokan, CEO of GEM Hospital, said, "He was admitted in a critical condition with a massive gastrointestinal bleed and multiorgan dysfunction secondary to a complex abdominal condition. He was managed in the critical care unit with intensive medical management.

The actor reportedly breathed his last at around 8.30 pm on Thursday

Shankar is survived by his wife and daughter.

Early reports state that the actor's final rites and funeral ceremony will be held at his Chennai residence

on Friday. The ceremony will reportedly see his family, film industry colleagues, former costars and even fans in attendance to pay their respects and bid him a final goodbye.

Soon after news of his demise broke online, fans took to their handles to offer their condolences to his

grieving family and to also remember his epic performances over the years.
