A sports analyst has urged for a peaceful resolution in the dispute between Paralympic Council of Malaysia (PCM) and two-time Paralympic gold medallist Cheah Liek Hou. The controversy erupted after Liek Hou accused PCM of “scamming” him on social media, following delays in receiving the RM60,000 reward promised for his gold medal at the Paris Paralympics. PCM president Datuk Seri Megat D. Shahriman Zaharudin criticized Liek Hou’s comments as damaging to the council’s reputation and sponsorship prospects. The council is considering suspending Liek Hou from future events and possibly taking legal action, highlighting the need for calm to protect para sports’ image.
