The Perlis Customs Department confiscated 517,394 vape devices and accessories valued at over RM12 million from a warehouse in Padang Besar, with unpaid duties of RM2.6 million. The raid, conducted on August 12 in Kampung Kolam, followed intelligence and surveillance by the Customs Enforcement Branch. A 19-year-old caretaker, believed to be the son of the warehouse owner, was detained. Investigations revealed the warehouse was used as a transit point to smuggle vape products sourced from China into Thailand. This large seizure reflects intensified efforts to curb illegal vaping product smuggling along the Malaysia-Thailand border.
