Director Venkat Prabhu has lauded Atharvaa’s latest film Thanal, calling it a gripping watch that reminded him of his own 2008 film Saroja. Speaking to the media, Prabhu praised the performances of Atharvaa and Ashwin Kakumanu, and highlighted the film’s strong technical elements — including music, action, editing, and especially the cinematography by Sakthi Saravanan, who also worked on Saroja. Directed by Ravindra Madhava, Thanal is a one-night thriller about a former soldier on a mission of revenge and a principled cop forced into a moral crossroads. The film also stars Lavanya Tripathi, Bose Venkat, and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli.
