A recent Ipsos Malaysian Education Monitor 2025 survey shows strong support among Malaysians for banning social media use by children under 14, with 70% backing the restriction. The survey, conducted from June to July, also found that 72% of Malaysians believe social media negatively impacts children’s education. However, opinions remain split on whether smartphones should be banned in schools. This reflects broader global concerns, as 71% of respondents worldwide shared similar views on limiting social media access for younger users.
