KUALA LUMPUR — Malaysia and Vietnam are deepening bilateral ties through new halal industry collaborations, with a trade target of US\$18 billion. Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi highlighted the proposed halal industrial park in Vietnam and the Asean Halal Council as key initiatives. Vietnamese Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha praised Malaysia’s global leadership in halal certification, noting its expertise complements Vietnam’s robust agricultural base. The cooperation aims to boost halal exports and regional economic integration. The announcement comes during the Vietnamese delegation’s visit to Malaysia for the AIPA-46 General Assembly.
