GEORGE TOWN — The Penang Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has detained two C-class local fishing boats operated by Thai nationals and seized nearly three tonnes of fish during a two-day joint operation with the Department of Fisheries. The operation, which included both sea and land efforts, ended on Thursday. MMEA Penang director Maritime Captain Muhammad Suffi Mohd Ramli said the vessels were found in violation of local fishing regulations and were manned by Thai nationals aged 40 to 56. Investigations are ongoing to determine further action.
