BANGI — Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh has called on the Paralympic Council Malaysia (MPM) to adopt the Road to Gold (RTG) programme’s contract-first strategy in handling athlete rewards and sponsorships. Citing the recent controversy involving para-athlete Cheah Liek Hou, Yeoh stressed that RTG required all promised incentives to be formalised in contracts before competitions, including million-ringgit pledges tied to Olympic gold wins. She urged MPM to follow suit to ensure fairness, transparency, and to avoid future misunderstandings regarding athletes' entitlements.
