LONDON — Production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been temporarily halted after star Tom Holland was hospitalised following a stunt accident on set.

The 29-year-old actor, who reprises his role as the web-slinging superhero, suffered a mild concussion after a fall during filming on Friday.

According to Deadline, the incident occurred on location in Glasgow, where the Marvel blockbuster has been shooting major action sequences.

The Sun, however, reported that the accident took place at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, where Holland is believed to have “cracked his head” and was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

While the details remain murky, both outlets confirmed that Holland was discharged and is expected to make a full recovery.

A source told Deadline he will take a short break “out of precaution” but should return to set within days.

The Sun suggested production could be on hold for longer, citing concerns that the fall may prompt a Health and Safety Executive investigation.

Despite the scare, Holland still managed to attend a charity dinner in London over the weekend with his fiancée and co-star Zendaya.

His father, comedian Dominic Holland, told guests his son would be away from filming “for a while,” though the actor reportedly left the event early after feeling unwell.

Filming on the £150 million production began in Scotland last month, with Holland previously calling the return to real locations “a breath of fresh air” after No Way Home was shot entirely on soundstages.

Directed by Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, the fourth standalone Spider-Man instalment is set for a July 24, 2026 release and will see Zendaya reprise her role as MJ alongside newcomers Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas.

Sony and Marvel producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige are overseeing the project, which Holland teased will feature a “massive set-piece” built from Glasgow’s city streets.

For now, fans will have to wait to see how quickly their friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man can swing back into action.
