Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei dominate all-Malaysian showdown to reach Denmark Open semis

World mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei advanced to the Denmark Open semi-finals after overcoming fellow Malaysians Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai today.

PETALING JAYA — National mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei lived up to expectations by advancing to the semi-finals of the 2025 Denmark Open Badminton Championships after defeating compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie in their quarter-final match today.

In the clash at the Jyske Bank Arena, Odense, the tournament's fourth seeds who recently emerged as the World Championship pair, only took 38 minutes to record a 21-17, 21-11 straight sets victory over the eighth seeds.

Awaiting the world-class pair in the semi-finals will be either the tournament's top seeds from China, Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin, or Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje from Denmark.

Meanwhile, the campaign of the national men's doubles pair Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong ended after they were defeated 19-21, 18-21 by the defending champions and also the fifth seeds from China, Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang, 19-21, 18-21.
