KUALA LUMPUR — Police have arrested a 22-year-old man who was behind the wheel of a Land Rover involved in a five-vehicle collision on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), which went viral on social media.
In a statement, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said investigations showed the crash, which occurred around 5.17pm on October 18, involved two lorries and three cars after the vehicle driven by the suspect lost control and rammed into several vehicles ahead.
He said the suspect, a local man with no previous criminal record, was detained for investigation under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for dangerous driving.
Police reminded all road users to obey traffic laws and warned that firm action would be taken against those who drive recklessly.
