BATU PAHAT — A six-year-old boy who was critical with a slash wound in the neck believed to have been inflicted with a knife at his home in Parit Raja yesterday, is now in stable condition after undergoing surgery.
Batu Pahat district police chief ACP Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the boy was still at the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital (HSNI) here for further treatment.
He said the child was also able to speak but police have not recorded a statement as the victim is still recovering from post-surgery.
“We are still conducting a detailed investigation to identify the exact cause of the incident and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing grievous bodily harm,” he said when contacted today.
In the horrifying discovery made at 5.30am, the boy’s 40-year-old mother found that he had a cut on his neck, She lodged a report at about 9am.
