KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — The former boyfriend and adopted brother of a woman found dead, naked and with her hands tied in a bushy area near a roundabout in Seri Kembangan, are among three men arrested yesterday to assist police investigations.
Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the suspects, all Malaysians aged between 25 and 30, were detained yesterday, while efforts are under way to locate others believed to be linked to the case.
He said police have identified the victim, who is a Malaysian.
“We will apply for a remand order for the three suspects today.
“The victim’s identity has been confirmed through identification by her younger sibling,” he told Berita Harian today.
Muhamad Farid added that the victim’s family had earlier lodged a missing person report at a police station in Kuala Lumpur before her body was found.
“The report was filed on October 25, four days before the discovery,” he said. The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The woman’s body was discovered at about 3.45pm on Wednesday after a passer-by detected a foul smell along Jalan Anggerik in Seri Kembangan.
Earlier, Muhamad Farid said the victim was 144cm tall, had shoulder-length blonde hair, long fingernails, silver earrings in both ears, a green and red fabric bracelet, and a tattoo on her right arm.
Police have urged anyone with information on the case to contact the nearest police station or the Serdang district police headquarters at 03-80742222.
