LOS ANGELES, Oct 31 — Self-proclaimed Hollywood producer David Pearce has been sentenced to 146 years to life in a California state prison for murdering two women and sexually assaulting seven others.
According to the Los Angeles Country District Attorney’s Office, the 43-year-old was convicted in February for the 2021 fentanyl-induced deaths of models Christy Giles and Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola in Beverly Hills.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Eleanor Hunter handed down the sentence at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday.
District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said the decision “delivers long-awaited justice” for the victims and their families.
He said Pearce not only sexually assaulted his victims but “stole lives in one of the most devastating ways — a fentanyl-induced sexual assault.”
Hochman praised prosecutors Catherine Mariano and Seth Carmack and the Los Angeles Police Department for their role in securing the conviction.
Prosecutors said Pearce met Giles and Cabrales-Arzola at a warehouse party before luring them to his Beverly Hills apartment.
Investigators found that Pearce gave the women fentanyl and GHB, which led to fatal overdoses.
Their bodies were later left outside two hospitals, with Giles already dead and Cabrales-Arzola dying days later.
Pearce’s co-defendant, Brandt Osborn, faces a new trial in November after jurors failed to reach a verdict in his case earlier this year.
