KUALA LUMPUR — The fire at a restaurant in KLCC Tower 3 has been successfully contained, with no casualties reported, according to fire and rescue officials on site.
The fire, which started early this morning, was brought under control by 8.45am.
Speaking to reporters, Sentul Fire and Rescue Chief Mohd Hafizan Hassan confirmed that his team responded swiftly after receiving a distress call at 6.41am.
Fire units from three stations arrived at the scene by 6.48am to begin fire and rescue operations.
“A total of 35 fire and rescue personnel from three stations — Sentul, Jalan Tun Razak, and Jalan Hang Tuah — were deployed to the scene,” Hafizan said.
“The restaurant affected by the fire was closed at the time, and there were no individuals present.”
According to Hafizan, the restaurant will remain closed while investigations are carried out to determine the cause of the fire.
While access to Tower 3 has been blocked, the situation outside KLCC remains under control, with police diverting bystanders.
A video circulating online this morning showed dark smoke billowing from KLCC Tower 3.
