Datuk Fadil Marsus and PDRM made history by conquering the Ironman series in Langkawi.

KUALA LUMPUR — City police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus and 18 other participants from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) created history yesterday by participating in and finishing the Ironman Malaysia and Ironman 70.3 Langkawi circuit.

In a statement, PDRM said for the relay category the PDRM team came in second, while in the Ironman 70.3 category, Corporal Muhammad Luqmanul Hakim Hamidi came in third place.

“Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus joined 18 officers from the Royal Malaysia Police in taking on the gruelling Ironman Malaysia and Ironman 70.3 Langkawi 2025, marking another milestone for the force’s commitment to fitness and resilience,” the statement read.

An Ironman 70.3 triathlon consists of a 1.2 mile swim (1.9km), 56 mile (90km) bike, and 13.1 (21.1km) mile run, completed in succession. The race covers a total of 70.3 miles (113), hence the name.

In contrast, an Ironman, or full distance triathlon, consists of a 2.4 mile (3.8km) swim, 112 mile (180km) bike, and 26.2 mile (42.2km) run. The race covers a total of 140.6 miles (226km).
