Suspected human bones found on Lekas Highway hillside, police appeal for information

The suspected human skeletal remains that were found on a hill slope at KM24.5 (northbound) of Lekas last week.

NILAI, Nov 8 — Bones believed to be human skeletal remains were found on a hill slope at Kilometre 24.5 northbound of the Kajang-Seremban Expressway (Lekas) here recently.

Nilai district police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hashim said a report was received at 11.35am on November 2 from highway cleaning workers, who discovered incomplete incomplete human skeletal remains at the site.

“Initial investigations at the scene uncovered a cluster of bones believed to be human.

“No identification documents were found, and the victim’s identity has yet to be determined. Further inspection of the scene showed no signs of criminal activity,” he said in a statement here today.

Abdul Malik said that so far there are no new leads, and the case exhibits have been forwarded to the forensic laboratory for analysis.

He urged those who have lost family members or friends, or who may have information on the incident, to come forward and help with the investigation by contacting the Mantin Police Station at 06-7581222, or Insp Mohd Syafiq Azmy at 018-2247743.
