KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 — Malaysia turned in an impressive showing at the 2025 World Corporate Golf Challenge (WCGC) World Final in Shanghai, with Widad Skycore’s Isyraf Widad Muhammad Ikmal Opat and Muhammad Adib Ibrahim finishing just one point behind the champions.

The duo’s 80-point total over two days at the Dongzhuang Beach Golf Club was enough to secure second place behind China’s Guojiao 1573 Team 2, who won with 81 points. Another Chinese pair, Guojiao 1573 Team 1, finished third with 79 points.

Team Leonian Malaysia, represented by Anushka Gayan and Lee Robert, also put up a creditable performance, finishing fifth with 74 points in a highly competitive field.

The 32nd edition of the WCGC, held from October 19 to 23, brought together corporate golfers and executives from five continents for a unique mix of sport, networking, and cultural exchange.

Participants competed across the Linksland and Parkland courses at Dongzhuang Beach Golf Club and took part in events such as the Sports Legends Cup, a river cruise along Shanghai’s Huangpu River, and a black-tie awards gala at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel.

Under the theme “Bringing the World of Golf & Business Together,” the WCGC reinforced its standing as the world’s premier corporate golf platform.

In a statement, WCGC Malaysia’s royal patron, His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah, congratulated the Malaysian teams and expressed optimism for the nation’s continued progress on the world stage.

“I congratulate all the winners and hope that greater success will be achieved in future WCGC tournaments, both in Malaysia and internationally,” he said.

World Corporate Golf Challenge Malaysia, backed by title sponsor ENOTECH and a roster of major partners including Konsortium Jaringan Selangor and Avisena Healthcare, aims to grow the country’s presence in the global corporate golf scene and strengthen links between business and sport.
