Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced a 50% toll discount on February 14 and 15, 2026, to ease the financial burden for travelers during Chinese New Year. The discount applies to Class 1 vehicles nationwide and Class 2 vehicles on the Penang Bridge, excluding border checkpoints. The government will compensate highway concessionaires an estimated RM19.5 million.
Highway users are encouraged to use travel time advisory (TTA) apps to avoid peak congestion. This initiative is part of the government's effort to support citizens during major cultural celebrations.
