Datuk Ahmad Rosli Mohd Sham, chairman of the MACC’s Operations Evaluation Panel (PPO), clarified today that the commission is actively working to ensure no case is deliberately delayed or hidden. Since 2009, the MACC has submitted 1,869 investigation papers classified as "No Further Action" (NFA) to the panel. While the panel agreed with the majority, 136 cases were directed back for review because investigative gaps were identified.
The panel’s role is to ensure that even if a case doesn't show a clear corruption offense, secondary violations aren't ignored. Ahmad Rosli highlighted that most investigations are now meeting a strict 12-month completion target. This transparency drive is part of a broader effort to maintain the commission’s credibility following recent high-profile media scrutiny regarding its investigative independence.
