In a major development following their Super Bowl LX victory, the Seattle Seahawks have officially been put up for sale. The Allen family, who have owned the franchise since 1997, announced the commencement of a formal sale process to direct proceeds toward philanthropy, as directed by the late Paul Allen. 

On the field, the Kansas City Chiefs have restructured quarterback Patrick Mahomes' contract for the fourth consecutive year. The move converts $54.45 million of his 2026 salary into a signing bonus, creating $43.65 million in vital salary cap space as the team looks to rebuild after missing the 2025 playoffs. 

In college basketball, No. 5 UConn suffered a surprising Creighton upset at home, significantly damaging their hopes for a No. 1 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Creighton’s Josh Dix led the effort with 21 points to secure the 85–78 victory.
