In local sports, seasoned golfer Kee Ing Ping claimed the Nett Section Group A title at the Lunar New Year Golf Special 2026 in Sibu. Firing 62 strokes at the Sibu Golf Course, he outperformed rivals Stephen Manai and Mohd Fadhli to secure the top spot.
Other winners at the tournament included Yong Huo Wei, who took the Nett Section Group B title, and Ferdinand Siaw, who topped the Gross Section leaderboard. The event also featured competitive categories for seniors, juniors, and invited guests, showcasing the strength of the golfing community in Sarawak.
