Major League Baseball's 2026 Spring Training is now in full swing across Arizona and Florida. A major headline today involves Detroit Tigers ace and reigning Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, who confirmed he will participate in the upcoming World Baseball Classic (WBC). However, Skubal plans to make only one start for Team USA during pool play before returning to Tigers camp to prioritize his health for the MLB regular season. 

Yesterday’s Cactus and Grapefruit League games saw the Los Angeles Dodgers defeat the San Diego Padres 5-1, while the Washington Nationals dominated the Miami Marlins 16-8. The New York Yankees also secured a 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. These early exhibition games are being used by clubs to evaluate top prospects ahead of the official Opening Night on March 25, 2026.
