In the Australian NBL, Bryce Cotton was officially crowned the league's Most Valuable Player for the sixth time at the annual Andrew Gaze MVP Award Night. Cotton now sits just one MVP title behind the legendary Andrew Gaze. However, the announcement has been met with significant controversy from runner-up Kendric Davis of the Sydney Kings. 

Davis, who averaged 24.4 points and 6.7 assists this season, took to social media to express his frustration after finishing second in the voting again. At today's NBL Finals Launch, Davis and coach Brian Goorjian addressed the media, with Davis stating the results were "out of my control" and that he is now focusing his energy on winning the championship. 

The NBL Finals are set to tip off this week, with the Sydney Kings and Perth Wildcats among the top contenders for the 2025-26 title.
