Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad has revealed that four in 10 doctors nationwide fail to report for duty after being offered permanent positions in the national health service. Speaking in the Dewan Negara, the minister noted that the highest attrition rate occurs when doctors transition from contract positions to permanent appointments within the Ministry of Health. To tackle this crisis, he plans to announce a new “formula” in the near future aimed at stabilizing the medical career pathway.
Meanwhile, in the technology and education sectors, Subang Jaya has introduced AI sensors to boost road safety, and Seberang Jaya Hospital has pioneered Penang's “School in Hospital” initiative to ensure children can continue learning while warded.
