President Trump issued a new wave of threats via social media, even as he claimed that "great progress" had been made in negotiations with what he described as a "NEW... REGIME" in Tehran. These claims of regime change were met with immediate skepticism from international analysts, who suggested the rhetoric does not "add up" with the reality on the ground. Iran's foreign ministry also moved quickly to contradict the President’s statements, once again denying that any formal negotiation breakthroughs had occurred.

This diplomatic friction comes at a dangerous time, as the Red Cross has reported that Israeli claims regarding their operations are "100% certain" to be false, particularly as ambulances in the region have been targeted. The UK’s defense secretary is currently visiting Gulf allies to coordinate a response to the escalating tension, while the Prime Minister is set to host a COBRA meeting to assess the national security implications. The situation remains highly volatile, with the international community watching for any signs of a genuine shift in Iranian leadership.

Despite the conflicting reports of progress, the regional conflict continues to take a heavy toll on the global economy. UN aid chiefs have warned of a new Israeli occupation in southern Lebanon, further complicating any potential for a ceasefire. Analysts at Sky News note that the closure of second crucial sea routes by Iran's allies could have a catastrophic impact on UK and European trade. The focus remains on whether these "negotiations" are a genuine path to peace or merely a tactical maneuver in an ongoing information war.
