Several fresh accidents reported throughout the morning of April 1, 2026, have caused significant delays for commuters across the Klang Valley and Penang. An accident on the NKVE involving the middle lane at KM22.9 caused slow-moving traffic from Bukit Lanjan toward Jalan Duta. Similarly, an accident on the BESRAYA highway at KM11.1 near Kuchai Lama resulted in a 30-minute delay for those heading into the Kuala Lumpur city centre from the Mines Utara toll plaza.

In Penang, a fatal collision between a car and a motorcycle at KM2.4 of the Penang Bridge blocked the right and middle lanes, leading to a massive two-hour jam for traffic heading toward Perai. Motorists were advised to use the second bridge as an alternative. Meanwhile, another accident on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway near Jelutong caused half-hour delays for commuters traveling from Gelugor to Georgetown during the morning peak hour.

Other notable disruptions included an accident at KM14 of the SUKE highway, causing delays from Hulu Kelang to Ampang, and a one-hour jam on the LDP near Puchong Jaya due to an earlier incident near Jalan Majlis. While most of these accidents involved minor vehicle damage, the resulting congestion has severely impacted the schedules of thousands of workers and students. Traffic authorities are working to clear the affected lanes and have urged drivers to exercise patience and maintain safe following distances.
