In a treat for Star Wars fans, GSC Cinemas has confirmed that "Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace" will return to theaters for a special 2D re-run. While special fan screenings were made available earlier, general ticketing for various formats—including 4DX at selected locations like GSC 1 Utama and GSC IOI City Mall—is expected to be released roughly one week before the show, presumably around April 26th. 

This re-release is part of a broader trend of bringing classic cinematic experiences back to the big screen, alongside other 2026 anniversaries. The re-run will be available at major hubs across the country, including Aurum Theatre at The Exchange TRX and GSC Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru. Additionally, Disney+ is set to launch the exclusive streaming series "Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord" today, April 6th, further fueling the franchise's momentum. 

For sci-fi enthusiasts, the upcoming weeks also feature the release of the survival thriller "Project Hail Mary" (starring Ryan Gosling), which has already begun screening in specialized formats like Atmos and D-BOX. The film's strong international performance is expected to carry over into the Malaysian market as more high-profile releases debut throughout April.
