While fans were eagerly awaiting the start of Ajith Kumar's next project, tentatively titled AK 64, reports indicate the film has hit a temporary roadblock. The project, which was expected to begin filming recently with director Adhik Ravichandran, is reportedly stalled due to ongoing negotiations regarding the actor's remuneration. Ajith is reportedly firm on a salary range of ₹170 to ₹180 crore, leading to discussions between the star and the production team.

This news follows a celebratory period for the actor's fans, as the Malaysia Ajith Fan Club recently held a massive appreciation event on April 11, 2026, to honor loyal supporters. The fan community in Malaysia remains one of his strongest international bases, frequently organizing large scale events and charity drives coinciding with his film milestones.

Despite the current delay on AK 64, Ajith’s previous film Vidaamuyarchi continues to be a topic of discussion after its successful worldwide run earlier this year. The action thriller, which was shot primarily in Azerbaijan, saw grand openings across Malaysian theaters in February. Supporters are now awaiting an official update from the makers to resolve the current stalemate.
