A series of Ukrainian drone strikes targeted sensitive Russian infrastructure overnight, including a nuclear power plant and a major port in the Baltic Sea. The attacks represent a significant escalation in Kyiv's strategy to disrupt Russian logistics and energy production deep within its borders. While local officials reported that the nuclear facility's safety systems remained intact, the incident has renewed international concerns regarding the potential for a catastrophic nuclear event in the conflict zone.

In the Baltic region, the drone strikes targeted port facilities used for fuel shipments, causing visible fires that took several hours to contain. These strikes aim to limit Russia's ability to fund its military operations by targeting its lucrative energy exports. Moscow has condemned the attacks as acts of terrorism and has vowed a "decisive response" against Ukrainian decision-making centres.

International observers are closely monitoring the fallout, as attacks on nuclear infrastructure are strictly prohibited under international law. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has called for immediate restraint from both sides to avoid any damage that could lead to radiation leaks. As the war continues to expand beyond the front lines, both nations are increasingly utilizing long-range drone technology to strike high-value targets.
