Knicks Sweep 76ers; Barcelona Crowned La Liga Champions

The New York Knicks completed a second-round sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night, winning 144-114 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive year. New York tied an NBA postseason record by sinking 25 three pointers, led by Deuce McBride, who stepped in for the injured OG Anunoby to score 25 points. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves leveled their Western Conference Semifinal series against the San Antonio Spurs with a 114-109 victory, despite a valiant effort from the Spurs following Victor Wembanyama's ejection. 

In European football, Barcelona clinched their 29th La Liga title after defeating arch rivals Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clásico. Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres secured back to back league championships for Hansi Flick’s side. In the Premier League, Manchester City closed the gap on leaders Arsenal, while Everton's hopes for European qualification took a major blow following a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace. 

On the international stage, the countdown to the 2026 FIFA World Cup has officially hit the one month mark, with the tournament set to kick off on June 11 in Mexico City. In youth football, India's U17 Women's teamfaces hosts China today in a historic AFC Asian Cup quarter-final, with a spot in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup on the line.
