An explosion involving an unidentified drone occurred near the headquarters of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in Naqoura, causing minor damage to Malaysia House, a rest facility used by Malaysian military personnel. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin confirmed that the blast occurred roughly 20 metres from the facility fence line. Fortunately, all five Malaysian Armed Forces officers serving as military staff took shelter safely in bunkers, and no Malaysian personnel were injured.

The incident highlights the volatile security situation in the region, where international peacekeeping forces have been placed on high alert due to escalating regional conflicts. The Malaysian government has reiterated its commitment to the UNIFIL mission while prioritizing the absolute safety of its deployed forces. Structural assessments of Malaysia House are currently underway to ensure the facility remains secure for future use by military personnel.

The Ministry of Defence remains in constant communication with the UNIFIL command center to monitor the situation closely. Additional security protocols have been activated at all locations housing Malaysian peacekeepers to prevent potential fallout from further drone activity. Families of the personnel in Lebanon have been assured of their safety by the military command.
