Hollywood veteran John Travolta captured the artistic spotlight at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival by unveiling his highly personal, aviation themed directorial debut titled Propeller One-Way Night Coach. The 72 year old actor turned filmmaker revealed that the story is a loosely autobiographical love letter reflecting his lifelong obsession with planes and his very first flight experience as an eight year old boy travelling with his mother.

Speaking directly to reporters during a press conference in Cannes, Travolta addressed the mixed reviews of his project by explaining that he deliberately channeled the cinematic spirits of legendary European filmmakers. He specifically highlighted how the visual styling and pacing of the feature pay sincere homage to master directors like Truffaut, Fellini, Lelouch, and Bergman.

To add a deeply intimate touch to the production, Travolta deliberately cast his own daughter, Ella Bleu, in a key role as an air hostess while relying on other close family members to populate the project's background crew. International audiences will not have to wait long to judge the unique film for themselves, as it is scheduled to stream globally on Apple TV at the end of May.
