Actor Athrvaa reflected on the making of Idhayam Murali at the film's success meet on Friday, describing the project as more than just another film and recalling the camaraderie that developed among the cast and crew during its two-year production. Comparing the event to a school reunion, Atharvaa said, "Honestly, this feels like the last day of school when everyone gathers for a reunion. That's exactly how I feel today."

Speaking about director Aakash Baskaran, Atharvaa revealed that he had initially been sceptical about the title Idhayam Murali. "I kept asking him, 'We're making a light-hearted love story. Will a title like this work?' But he would simply say, 'Bro, trust me. It'll become a good film.' Today, I feel he has fulfilled that promise."

The actor said the atmosphere on set was unlike any other project he had worked on, with most scenes evolving through improvisation rather than extensive rehearsals. According to him, the actors often arrived on set without knowing exactly how a scene would play out, receiving the pages only after reaching the location before improvising their performances.

Atharvaa also shared an anecdote about the bond the team formed during the shoot. Recalling co-actor Rakshan, he said the latter would sometimes visit the sets even when he had no scenes to film. "I once asked him, 'Do you have a scene today?' He said, 'No, bro. I just came to have lunch with everyone.' That's how comfortable the environment became."

The actor added that the production made it a point for the entire cast and crew to eat together every day, something he said was rare on film sets. "Initially, we wondered why everyone was being called for lunch every single day. But slowly, we became one family. I think we're all so close today because of those small off-screen moments."
