While voice messages dominate Malaysian WhatsApp chats, there are times when a quick text version is all you need. Thankfully, WhatsApp understands the struggle and is rolling out voice message transcriptions!

WhatsApp is now coming out with a new plan to add a new function which is to transcribe voice messages. This means you will be getting a text version of all voice messages you receive. This can improve the convenience of voice messages and allows users to grasp the contents of all messages quickly without needing to play the voice message. It will also be a useful feature for those with hearing issues. 

This feature is currently in early access, limited to beta testers and just five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Hindi). But fear not, more languages are on the way! We expect WhatsApp to make this feature available to everyone in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
