Henley & Partners has released the latest global passport index today. This year, the Malaysian passport has climbed to the 12th position, up from 14th place in 2023. Malaysian passport holders can now travel to 182 countries without a visa, an increase from 179 countries last year.
For context, this is Malaysia’s highest ranking since 2014, when its passport was 8th. The top spot continues to be held by Singapore, whose passport allows visa-free travel to 192 destinations. In Southeast Asia, Malaysia is ranked second, and in Asia, it holds the fourth position, behind Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.
