Early this morning, a three-vehicle crash on Jalan Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kota Kinabalu resulted in two fatalities when one of the cars caught fire. The victims, whose identities and genders are not yet known, died after their car was engulfed in flames.
Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station chief Ordine Gilu reported that the department received an emergency call at 2:30 a.m., and firefighters arrived at the scene within five minutes. The rescuers were only able to retrieve the charred bodies after extinguishing the fire.
The drivers of the other two vehicles involved in the accident sustained minor injuries. The bodies have been handed over to the police for further investigation and action.
