One of the standout features of foldable screen devices has been the Interpreter mode, but this has been restricted to Samsung devices and requires a specific OneUI application. However, Google Translate is set to enhance flexibility by introducing support for dual-screen mode.

The updated Google Translate app now features a Material You-themed interface and includes several new modes: conversation mode and dual-screen mode, in addition to the existing listening and typing modes. The conversation mode splits the inner screen into two parts, with the top part rotated for face-to-face interactions.

The new dual-screen mode functions similarly to Samsung's Interpreter on Galaxy devices with Galaxy AI, displaying the original language on one screen and the translation on the other. Currently, this feature is supported on Pixel Fold, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, and Galaxy Z Fold devices, and tests indicate compatibility with the Galaxy Z Flip6 as well.

Additionally, Google Translate offers offline functionality for certain languages that can be downloaded. Further details are yet to be confirmed, but it is hoped that all aspects will be clarified soon.
