MoH Launches Five New Guidelines to Boost Malaysia's Disaster Preparedness*

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 — The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MoH) has unveiled five new disaster management guidelines to enhance the nation’s emergency readiness, announced Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad.

The guidelines, developed through rigorous testing at district and regional levels, include:

1. *2024 National Disaster Management Plan*: The primary framework for all disaster management efforts.

2. *2024 Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) SOP*: Outlining core disaster response procedures.

3. *2024 CBRNe Management Guidelines*: Addressing technical disasters involving chemicals, biological agents, radiological, nuclear, and explosives.

4. *2024 Guidelines for Rapid Assessment Team (RAT) and Rapid Response Team (RRT)*: Focusing on immediate disaster evaluation and response.

5. *2024 Guidelines for Human Resource Mobilisation*: Ensuring effective personnel deployment during public health emergencies.

During his speech at the Disaster Management Conference for National Preparedness Month, Dzulkefly highlighted the MoH's commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s disaster response capabilities. He stressed that disaster management requires collaboration from the entire society, including the private sector and NGOs, to enhance the resilience of the nation’s health system.
