BEIJING, Nov 8 — President Xi Jinping expressed his pleasure at meeting Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, emphasizing the strengthening relationship between China and Malaysia as they celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties.
During their meeting at the Great Hall of the People, Xi recalled the recent state visit by Malaysian King Sultan Ibrahim, highlighting its importance for advancing bilateral discussions. He extended his greetings to the Sultan and noted that Anwar’s visit in March laid the groundwork for a new era of cooperation.
Xi highlighted the significant growth in trade, which has increased nearly 1,000-fold over the decades, and underscored Malaysia's role as a key player in the Global South. He stated, “The future of our relations is bright,” and expressed China’s readiness to collaborate with Malaysia to enhance their shared future project for mutual prosperity and stability.
