Driver Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run on Bukit Jalil Highway*

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 — A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident that killed a seven-year-old girl and injured her parents on the Bukit Jalil Highway last Friday.

According to Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa, the incident occurred around 9:50 pm when the victims were thrown onto the road after their Honda Beat motorcycle was struck by the suspect’s BMW 5 Series. While the public rushed the family to the hospital, the girl later died from her injuries.

A viral 28-second dashcam video showed the BMW speeding, colliding with the motorcycle, and briefly stopping before driving off. Police are set to refer the case to the State Prosecution Office for charges under the Road Transport Act.
