KUALA TERENGGANU, Nov 20 — Floods have struck four districts in Terengganu—Kemaman, Marang, Hulu Terengganu, and Setiu—forcing 212 people from 54 families to seek shelter in temporary relief centres.

As of 10 pm, the number of evacuees had risen sharply from just 12 in Kemaman at 6 pm. Kemaman recorded the highest number, with 97 victims from 22 families sheltered in three centres. Hulu Terengganu followed with 53 victims from 14 families in three centres, while Setiu had 49 victims from 14 families in one centre, and Marang housed 13 victims from four families.

Water levels in Sungai Tumpat and Sungai Tersat have surpassed the warning level, exacerbating the situation
