Anwar Welcomes ICC Warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant as a Win for Palestinian Justice
PUTRAJAYA, Nov 22 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has praised the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, calling it a justified and important step in addressing the alleged war crimes in Gaza.
Anwar emphasized that the ICC's decision was based on legal evidence of ongoing violence, oppression, and killings by Israel. He added that the warrants, issued amid Israel’s continuing attacks on Gaza, are a confirmation of the suffering of the Palestinian people.
“This is a victory for those who seek justice for Palestine,” Anwar said after Friday prayers, adding that the warrants should be enforced even if Netanyahu and Gallant travel abroad.
The Prime Minister also responded to the US's rejection of the warrants, stating, "That’s the US’s decision, but the world’s stance is different.
