Residents of Rantau Panjang, Kelantan, are facing some of the worst flooding since 2014, with water levels continuing to rise even after five days of heavy rain. Many families are without electricity and struggling with dwindling food supplies.

Fadhli Mat Yusof, 53, from Pekan Rantau Panjang, said that while past floods receded within days, this one shows no signs of letting up. "Food supplies will only last until tomorrow, and electricity has been out for two days," he told Sinar Harian. He urged aid groups to deliver supplies to Kastam Rantau Panjang Gate 2, as many residents have not evacuated due to their homes being elevated above the floodwaters.

Abdul Fathi Mat Yeh, 30, from Kampung Kubang Rambutan, described how floodwaters have entered his home for the first time, rising to 0.3 meters inside. He and his family are relying on a borrowed generator to power their home, with food supplies still holding out for now. "We’re praying for the rain to stop and the waters to recede," he said.

Meanwhile, in Kampung Siram, Rosli Ibrahim, 52, had to evacuate with his family as the Golok River surged. "This is the first time we’ve had to leave our home," he said, adding that the floodwaters have reached nearly two meters high. With the rain still falling, he expects to stay in the evacuation center for at least a week.
