A 31-year-old male suspect with 24 criminal records, including drug offences and violent crimes, was shot dead by Kelantan police in Jeram Pasu early this morning. The suspect, who was driving a Perodua Bezza, opened fire on a CID team after being intercepted. Police returned fire, killing him at the scene. A search of his car uncovered a semi-automatic pistol, imitation pistol, machete, and a packet of tobacco, possibly intended for smuggling into detention centers. The suspect, a tow truck driver from Pasir Puteh, had been highly wanted by police. Investigations are ongoing to determine if he acted alone.
