The boyfriend of 21-year-old Alssa Lyn Tay, who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Johor, arrived at her wake in Singapore on December 12, wearing a blue hospital gown and sitting in a wheelchair. He quietly apologized to her grieving family, saying, "I'm sorry," to which Tay’s stepfather responded, "But what’s done is done, and nothing can change it."

Tay died on December 10 after the motorcycle her boyfriend was riding crashed on the North-South Expressway near Kulai. He lost control of his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10, hitting road barriers. Tay, who was riding pillion, died at the scene. Her boyfriend, who suffered a broken leg, was hospitalized before being transferred to Singapore for further treatment.

The couple had been on a trip to Genting Highlands, where Tay had planned a surprise reunion with her mother. Despite her stepfather’s concerns about riding a motorcycle, Tay insisted on returning to Singapore with her boyfriend after their visit. The funeral will take place at Mandai Crematorium on December 14.
