KUALA LUMPUR: Police are trying to locate a 14-year-old girl reported missing in Taman Bandar Bukit Puchong, Putra Perdana, since yesterday evening.

Sepang deputy police chief Superintendent Shan Gopal Krishnan confirmed receiving a report at 1.40am today from the girl's mother.

The mother said her daughter, Noor Amni Nazaranee, left their home at 5pm on Jan 9 to visit a friend in Lavender Terrace, Taman Puchong Prima.

Noor Amni, a Form Two student at SM Taman Putra Perdana, was last seen by her elder brother leaving the house via an e-hailing service.

"Police investigations revealed that she later left the friend's house to go jogging in Putrajaya.

"At 8.50pm, she informed (her family) that she was in Jalan Renang 13/26, Shah Alam.

"Noor Amni was last seen wearing a dark-coloured outfit and a brown headscarf, carrying her handphone," said Shan Gopal.

He said there were no reported disputes between the teenager and her family.

The case has been classified as a missing persons report, and police are urging the public to assist in the search.

Anyone with information on Noor Amni's whereabouts should contact investigating officer Sergeant Rasimah Rasid at 012-3252521 or the Sepang police headquarters at 03-87774222.
